Natural phenomenons are mesmerizing to watch and can also turn out to be a thrilling experience to witness. It was only last month that the residents of the Al Ain city in the United Arab Emirates spotted a mysterious hole in the sky known as the ‘fallstreak hole’.
And now, the people residing near the Penang Island in Malaysia became witness to a completely different natural but beautiful occurrence.
On Monday afternoon, people living on the island saw a huge spinning waterspout on Tanjung Tokong’s shores which went on for about five minutes. However the waterspout slowly moved to the land and after a brief period of time, it fell apart putting an end to the eyegasmic scene.

People initially thought it to be a tornado only to realize that it is actually a waterspout. Eyewitnesses at the place recorded the entire phenomenon before it crashed on to the land.

In case you do not know, waterspouts are similar to tornadoes, but form over water when cool and unstable air passes over warmer waters and turns into a spinning column of water. They tend to collapse once they move across solid ground.
Sadly, according to Channel News Asia, the waterspout damaged at least 50 houses and several trees. A few houses had their roofs blown off according to the Guardian.
The Penang Civil Defence Force spokesman confirmed that there were no injuries reported.
Oh nature, you are beautiful.
