Watch How Mahindra Created A Film Set Entirely From Waste Paper In Order To Spread A Green Message And To Urge People To #RiseAgainstClimateChange

Climate change is very, very real. Global temperatures are rising, ice caps are melting, polar bears are losing their natural habitats and pollution is hurting the ozone layer. The scientific data that proves all of this is indisputable.

On Earth Day 2019, USA Today reported that Carbon dioxide levels have gone up 46% since the Industrial Revolution and 3 trillion tons of Antarctican ice has melted.

Furthermore, NASA’s climate studies reveal that Earth’s sea levels recorded an 8-inch rise in the last century and ocean acidification has increased by 30% since the Industrial Revolution.

Despite these alarming statistics, human greed and selfishness have not ceased. But even in this gloomy smoke-filled future, there exists green hope. Luckily, there’s something else that hasn’t stopped – and that is the labour of the world’s hardest workers aka TREES! They work day in and day out giving us oxygen and reversing the damage caused by burning fossil fuels.

A recent CNN report suggests that planting trees to remove Carbon dioxide from the atmosphere is our best (and most efficient) solution to climate change.

Which is why the Mahindra Group decided to lead by example and initiated Project Hariyali way back in 2007. They have successfully planted over 15 million trees and continue to take care of them. They encourage everyone to ‘rise for good’ and embrace this low-cost, sustainable act of environment conservation so that we can make the world a better place for our future generations.

To celebrate these ‘hardest workers’ and highlight their contribution to the planet, Mahindra has made a film entirely from 150 kgs of waste newspapers & discarded cardboard. After the film was made, all of the materials were converted to manure which was used for planting saplings.

A team of 72 craftsmen and paper artists worked tirelessly for 3600+ hours to turn recycled paper into the film’s set. The company’s choice to refrain from wasting any resources proves that they care very deeply for the environment. And they’re not stopping now because their upcoming initiative tackles the issue of waste management.
