The fact that Mahesh Bhatt has had a tumultuous love and family life is no secret. First, he was married to Kiran Bhatt with whom he had a daughter – Pooja Bhatt. He then fell in love with popular actress Parveen Babi while being married to Kiran. However, he had to put an end to the affair because it was beginning to ruin him personally and professionally after Parveen started showing symptoms of paranoid schizophrenia and was later diagnosed with the mental illness.
He then fell in love with Soni Razdan whom he married and had two daughters together – Shaheen and Alia.
In a recent conversation, Mahesh Bhatt revealed a few interesting details about his relationship with Soni Razdan. He claimed that he resisted falling in love with her and told her that he would “destroy” her.
The Indian Express quoted him saying, “I resisted Soni but I was drawn into the relationship. I remember telling Soni, ‘Don’t come near me, I will destroy you.’ But she said she was ready to be destroyed. This conversation later became a dialogue in my film Raaz.”

Describing his relationship with Parveen Babi, he said that it was “traumatic”.
“It was not a beautiful relationship. When Silsila released, I said that extramarital relationships do not happen in tulip gardens, they take place in a shady, dark land, we will hide, feeling of sin, it was a traumatic phase with Parveen.”
