Telugu Actor Mahesh Babu Says Bollywood Can’t Afford Him, Doesn’t Want To ‘Waste’ His Time

There have been many Bollywood movies that featured an actor from the Tamil, Telugu or the Kannada film industry. There’s been Sridevi, Madhavan, Prabhu Deva, Prabhas, Dhanush, Asin, Ram Charan and so many others. However, when Telugu actor Mahesh Babu was asked about working in Bollywood, he gave a rather controversial statement.

According to India Today, Mahesh Babu said that he thinks Bollywood can’t “afford” him and that he doesn’t want to “waste” his time working in an industry that’s unable to do so.

“I did get a lot of offers in Hindi, but I don’t think they can afford me. I don’t want to waste my time working in an industry which can’t afford me.”

He went on to add that the stardom that he experiences down South is huge and he never really thought of working for another industry.

“The stardom and the respect I get here (in South) is huge, so I never really thought of leaving my industry and going to some other industry. I have always thought of doing films and becoming bigger. My dream is coming true now and I can’t be happier.”
