I don’t know about you but I’m a big sucker for the era in Bollywood movies that was all about family, and songs, and values, and more songs. The 90s kids will know–opulent sets, mega star-casts, plots filled with climatic tiffs between families and the ultimate triumph of the good over bad. I mean, what’s not to like?
Yes, I grew up watching Rajshri movies and I can’t imagine any other way! In fact, amongst all, I just adore ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’ and there’s a reason why I’m on a nostalgia drive.
It so happened that Madhuri Dixit and Renuka Shahane, the iconic duo from HAHK, are coming back on the big screen together after decades and it is an opportune moment. I say so because the reel-life behen/bhabhi recreated the song ‘Lo Chali Main’.
It was Renuka who shared the clip on Facebook, coupled with lines that speak of the affection between both the lovely ladies. She wrote,
“Just before pack-up a member of our #BucketList unit played “Lo Chali Main” as a throwback to #HAHK. As soon as we heard the music Madhuri and I got up instinctively and danced on the song. The initiative, of course, was Madhuri’s, her enthusiasm is so loveable and childlike and she’s really ageing backwards I tell you. And so we danced with abandon, all the people watching us and recording us were just a blur as we felt that warm and fuzzy feeling of working together in #HAHK 24 years ago, of creating beautiful memories not only in #HAHK but also in the present with #BucketList.”
