Recently, a music video featuring Sunny Leone named ‘Madhuban Mein Radhika’ dropped on YouTube. It is a remake of the song which was originally sung by Mohammed Rafi for the 1960 film Kohinoor. However, the music video is currently facing massive backlash online.
The song, which is sung by Kanika Kapoor and Arindam Chakraborty, features Sunny Leone showing off sensual moves which are now being called “obscene” and “hurtful to religious sentiments”. According to India Today, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra on Sunday demanded the immediate removal of the song from all platforms.
He warned Sunny Leone and singers Shaarib and Toshi to apologise or else face action.
“Some vidharmis are constantly hurting Hindu sentiments. The video ‘Madhuban me Radhika nache’ is one such condemnable attempt. I am warning Sunny Leone ji, Shaarib and Toshi ji to understand. If they don’t remove the song after apologising in three days, then we will take action against them,” he said.
pic.twitter.com/9DbgQV4cuy

Soon, #ArrestSunnyLeone started trending on Twitter where several users demanded the immediate removal of the video and an apology from the music label SaReGaMa. Responding to the criticism, the music giant posted an apology online and said that they would “change” the lyrics of the video, reported NDTV.
“In light of recent feedback and respecting the sentiments of our fellow countrymen, we will be changing the lyrics and name of the song ‘madhuban…’. The new song will replace the old across all platforms over the next three days.”

Priests from Uttar Pradesh have also spoken against the music video. Sant Naval Giri Maharaj from Vrindavan said, “We will go to court if the government does not act against the actress and ban her video album,” reported News18.
Before this song, the MP Home Minister had strongly criticised Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s jewellery collection and a Karva Chauth advertisement by Dabur featuring a same-sex couple.
