Lucknow: Mob Of Rowdy Men Harass Couple Trying To Cross Flooded Road, One Gropes The Woman

On Wednesday afternoon, heavy rainfall led to severe waterlogging in many parts of Lucknow, including the area around the Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha building, where the Monsoon session was in progress.

In a video that went viral, a distressing incident was captured where a woman riding pillion on a bike was harassed by a group of men on a flooded road. The incident occurred under the Taj Hotel Bridge in Lucknow, according to TOI.

In the video, a man and a woman are seen trying to navigate a waterlogged road. A group of men, standing in knee-deep water, began splashing water on them repeatedly. As the man riding the bike attempted to hurry past the group, some men pulled the bike from behind, causing the couple to fall.

Before the woman fell down from the bike, one man groped her, which was clearly recorded in the video. After the woman fell down, another man helped her get back up on her feet.

The police eventually intervened and reprimanded the crowd. They have arrested four men from Gomti Nagar in connection with the incident, reported Wion.

Such behavior by the men in the video is downright disgusting and shows what a joke women’s safety is in our society. It is crucial for society to condemn such acts and ensure the safety and dignity of women in all public spaces.
