The entire song ‘Kesariya’ from Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt‘s upcoming movie ‘Brahmastra’ was released yesterday. And since just the snippet of the song made it to everyone’s gram and spread like wildfire, a lot of expectations were associated with it.
However, the full Hindi version of the song didn’t live up to the expectations of Bollywood music lovers. People were specifically irked when the songwriter Amitabh Bhattacharya rhymed the words ‘love storiyan’ with ‘kesariya’.
And since viewers are disappointed, trolling and memes on social media are obvious.

Apart from this, some hardcore music lovers even pointed out that they have heard the tune from a particular section of the song elsewhere. Remember ‘Kya Hua Jo Laaree Chhuti’ from the film ‘Ek Chalis Ki Last Local’?

With so much being talked about ‘Love storiyan’, people wanted to know why the song and movie makers did this to the Hindi version of the song that almost felt like elaichi in Biryani when its Kannada and Tamil versions are bomb AF.
Ranbir Kapoor said that the song is great and that trolling is a part of life today. “No, it’s great! See, listen, we as filmmakers and artists create something and it is up to the audience to receive it how they do. We are very excited about the song and it’s got a lot of love,” The Indian Express quoted him saying.
He added, “Today, memes and trolling are all part of life and it’s fine as long as people enjoy the song, Pritam’s music, and Arijit Singh’s singing. I want them to enjoy my chemistry with Alia and that’s what the endeavor is.”

Similarly, when director Ayan Mukerji was asked the same question, he said, “TBH, humney ye boht pyar se daala tha gaaney k andar. Humey both interesting sa twist laga tha.”
“So we didn’t find it like elaichi, we thought it was like a twist, like boht shakkar me thoda namak jab aata haina, uska ek maza hai, swaad hai. So we had felt that because it’s a modern film aur gaaney ke bol itne simple and traditional hai, this would have been a fun twist. Aur mujhey abhi bhi lagta hai k in some time, people will actually start enjoying it even more.”
(TBH, we had added it in the song with love as we thought it was an interesting twist. So, we didn’t find it like elaichi, we thought of it as adding a little bit of salt to a dessert to bring out the taste even more. So, we felt that since it’s a modern film and the lyrics of the song are simple and very traditional, this would be a fun twist. And I still feel that in some time, people will actually start enjoying it even more.)
