Amir Khusro.
One of the most poignant poets in the history of India. His words, both in Urdu and Farsi are mesmerising, to say the least, and have travelled all the way through seven centuries to this day and still ring the truth about the human psyche. He is said to be the one who brought about the advent of Ghazals in the Indian subcontinent and fathered the Qawalli.
His songs are mostly devotional in nature with a touch of roohani Sufism which are sung till date.
Here are a few dohas of Khusro that speak of a never ending love towards others and God.

Translation: Khusro is the sea of love whose flow is opposite. The one who gets to the other side drowns, the one who drowns goes to the other side.

Translation: I dressed myself up and went to see my beloved, when I saw my beloved’s face I completely forgot about my own.

Translation: Khusro, who reads the book of love? What are the holy books, Vedas, Kuraan and others without love?

Translation: Khusro, love like the Hindu meditates with concentration, to find his goal he’s willing to face fire and become coal.

Translation: Khusro and his beloved are one, only look like they are two. If you compare a heart with your heart, you’ll never see any difference.
6.
Translation: If you want to love someone love them with all your heart, loving like everyone else will leave you without love.
7.
Translation: Khusro, I’ll play the game of love with my beloved, if I win, my beloved is mine and if I lose then I’m with my beloved.
8.
Translation: The world is unhappy without night and the night is unhappy without the moon.
