The number of coronavirus cases in the country’s financial capital has reportedly crossed the 159K mark, while 7,273 people have succumbed to it. Hence, taking cognisance of the rapidly rising cases in Maharashtra, the state government has decided to extend the lockdown till July 31.

NDTV, reports that the government will be issuing new guidelines for its ‘Mission Begin Again’. According to an official statement, people attending offices and emergencies will be allowed unrestricted movement. “It is further directed that the movement of persons for the purposes of non-essential activities like shopping and the outdoor exercises, shall be restricted within the neighbourhood area limits with all necessary prescribed mandatory precautions of wearing masks, social distancing and personal hygiene. It is also directed that unrestricted movement will be permitted only for attending the place of work and bonafide humanitarian requirement including medical reason,” it read.
Although the officials intend to control the spread of the virus with this lockdown, people weren’t impressed by the move.
