Litti Chokha Or Dal Baati? Foodies Are Arguing Over Which Desi Dish Is Better

The coronavirus lockdown has turned all of us into budding MasterChefs. We’re looking for recipes online and experimenting with food we’ve never tried before. Luckily for us, India has a plethora of traditional dishes to choose from and satiate our palette. Which is why every now and then, food fights tend to break out over which dish is better – earlier it was an argument over biryani and now this – Litti Chokha or Dal Baati?

Fans of Dal Baati with its origins in the Mewar Kingdom of Rajasthan described their love for the dough balls served with desi ghee, spicy lentils, and sweet, crumbly churma.

And lovers of Bihar’s delicacy Litti Chokha replied with how scrumptious desi ghee dipped dough balls tasted when stuffed with sattu and accompanied by roasted eggplant and potato chokha.

However, there were many who enjoyed both and some who brought new contenders to the debate like poha, jalebi fafda, and chole bhature.
