A Man From Australia Changed Divya’s Life In The Most Beautiful Way. A Touching Story.

Do I think India has a lot of problems to solve?
Yes.

Do I believe India is changing?
Yes.

Do I have ideas and suggestions on how to do better?
Yes, I have.

10,000 people are getting out of poverty every day. By the time you finish reading my story 100 families would have climbed up to the middle class.

We all have causes and issues that are dear to our hearts.

Dick Smith also has one – Education can change a life, a nation.

A few weeks backs, Dick Smith was travelling by train in Vadodara.

While crossing a bridge, he came across a young homeless girl wearing nothing but a pink bracelet. He was quick to click a photo on his iPhone and noted the GPS position.

Sadly, Dick (in the picture) had to leave India. But what he did after that is remarkable.

He called up his friend Chris Bray and Jess Bray and asked if they were willing to help. It was time for another photo safari for Chris.

Because, Dick wanted to secure the girl’s education and open her a bank account so that he can regularly deposit money from New South Wales.

They reached their hotel in Vadodara and met Jayati, this receptionist girl who acted as their English-Hindi translator.

Soon, they made it to the bridge – Polytechnic Bridge or Shastri Bridge.

They started asking if they can recognize anyone from Dick’s photos.

No.

I think…

Yes, Yes, that’s the photo of Divya.

They met the whole family. Divya’s father is a plasterer who earns Rs 250/day.

Chris and Jess then took them to a bank and opened them a bank account.

Divya was happy.

Because, it was time for school shopping now. A school bag.

Other school supplies.

And Divya will be going to this school from now on.

This is my solution on how to do better.

Her future is changing.  India is changing right in front of my eyes.
