Kunal Kemmu, Vidyut Jammwal Call Out Bollywood Favouritism

A while back, actor Abhay Deol spoke about how the film industry lobbies against outsiders in covert and overt ways. Now, Vidyut Jammwal and Kunal Kemmu are calling out a web platform for excluding them from an actor’s panel.

According to NDTV, the platform announced the release of 7 films including Vidyut’s ‘Khuda Haafiz’ and Kunal’s ‘Lootcase’ but the invitation for the virtual session was only given to the bigger stars (Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Abhishek Bachchan, Alia Bhatt) with Varun Dhawan as moderator.

DNA India quoted Kunal saying, “Respect and love are things to be earned. If no one gives it to us, it shouldn’t make us feel insignificant. Just give us a level field to play, we can do great things too.”

Several celebrities including Randeep Hooda, Genelia Deshmukh, Aahana Kumra, Vikrant Massey and Kunal Kohli tweeted in their support and slammed the discriminatory behaviour.

More power to them for speaking against unequal representation in Bollywood. We wish them both the best of luck for their upcoming releases.
