Kochi Metro Does It Again, Honours Its Construction Workers By Organising A Feast For Them!

Kochi Metro Rail Limited has been a trendsetter in the most amazing ways, possible. Handing out goals of acceptance to every other city in the country, Kochi Metro actually came forward and gave jobs to the transgender community.

While the world was still applauding their effort, the department of Kochi metro took another leap and served all its construction workers a grand meal called ‘sadya’. In Malayalam, it refers to a feast served on banana leaves.

The metro project which was started in 2012 and will have its first run in the city on June 19 and Prime Minister, Narendra Modi will be launching it.

 

It has been reported that more than 4000 workers, who gave their blood and sweat for 4 years on this project.

 

Most of the labourers were not from the state and came from all around the country. Many were from Bihar, Assam and West Bengal.

 

The meal was not the only highlight of the feast, there was dancing, singing and the workers also wrote their names on the walls, in different languages.

 

The entire workforce was extremely joyous! They clicked pictures for memories and had a fun time!

The heartwarming deed by Kochi Metro Rail Limited of honouring those who toiled the hardest for the project has been winning hearts all around the world.
