How well do we know them? The truth is, we cannot know anyone fully, not even ourselves. So how is it possible that we know our parents beyond the roles of our mother and father? They are someone beyond those roles and deserve to be known as a person even by their children. Everyone should strive to respect them beyond their parenthood.

Here are a few things you can do with your parents that’ll help you to see them in a different light.

1. Visiting their alma mater along with them and listening to the stories of their college life.

The first time you see them at their alma mater you’ll think someday, you’ll also take your children to your college and live it all over again. They’ll be doing the same too. While showing you every nook and cranny of their college, they’re basically time traveling back to those glorious days and you can see it in their eyes.

2. Learning about the people who inspired them when they were young.

Their inspirations made them who they are today and what they value. Their inspirations can inspire you too, learning about them gives you an insight into what could be the thought process behind their personalities.

3. Geeting to know about the passions they nurtured in their 20s.

Their passions give you an idea of what they are besides their respective designations and lives. They could have a very different personality than their current job and their designations.

4. Reading the books they read as a kid.

The books you read are the knob that opens the doors of your mind. The same must have happened to your parents when they were little.
