KL Rahul Reveals How Anushka Sharma And Virat Kohli Came To His Aid During Tough Times

Born and brought up in Karnataka, KL Rahul is undoubtedly one of the most promising talents in the Indian ranks. The tall, lanky batsman who can hold his wicket in crisis, has rooted his spot perfectly in the Test side and seems to stay for long. Being an opening batsman of the highest calibre, he has also proved his worth in the shorter formats of the game with the recently concluded Indian Premier League, his biggest proof.

However, the road hasn’t been a cakewalk for the 26-year-old as Rahul was thrown off his game in his debut game itself. Yes, we are talking about the Test match against the mighty Aussies at the MCG on the boxing day, which was no joke for a rookie.

However, in a recent interview with DNA, KL Rahul revealed how Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli had helped him during those initial days of struggle.

A nervous KL Rahul crumbled under pressure in Melbourne and could only manage scores of 3 and 1 in his two innings. According to the batsman, it was Anushka Sharma who spotted the depression he was in and came to his rescue. The Bollywood Diva came to his room and asked him to join her and Virat Kohli for dinner.

“There was one instance after a match at Melbourne where I had a terrible performance. I was miserable and depressed. Anushka, who noticed this, came up to my room and asked me to accompany her and Virat to their dinner date.”

Rahul went on to describe how both Virat and Anushka shared their stories of failures to give him the much-needed confidence.

Not only that but the charming couple also made sure that Rahul spends his new year night with them. Wow!

Rahul added that he did not expect Anushka to understand the terrible state he was going through, but thankfully she did. She being a die-hard animal lover, still stays in touch with Rahul enquiring about his dog.

“It was nice of Anushka to do it as I didn’t know how she could understand what I was going through. We still stay in touch and exchange a few messages, although Anushka’s are about my dog mostly.”

It is a known fact that Virat Kohli and KL Rahul are the best of buds. And in case you are not aware, you can always have a look at their social profiles. Nonetheless, this gave us another reason to fall in love with Virushka.
