80 YO Woman’s Kids Pen The Most Savage Obituary For Her And Twitter’s Trying Not To Laugh

When Irish literary legend Brendan Behan said “There’s no such thing as bad publicity, except your own obituary,” he was probably referring to this obituary. I warn you, it is controversial, slightly hilarious, completely derogatory, and as we millennials like to call everything these days, SAVAGE AF.

No really, this one is.

An obituary for an 80-year-old woman by her two children in the Redwood Falls Gazette, a local newspaper in Minnesota, has managed to both outrage and entertain people.

Why? Well, why don’t I let you see for yourself.

So, waaaaait…. is this from an Ekta Kapoor serial? Did Gina and Jay lose it on their mother’s death or was this their plan all along? So many questions right now and a inappropriate urge to laugh.

I told you. Offensive, yet entertaining. That grand final sentence though….

“She passed away… and will now face judgement. She will not be missed by Gina and Jay, and they understand that this world is a better place without her.”

*mic drop*

The person handling Redwood Falls Gazette’s social media page became one busy fellow, as angered readers blasted them for allowing such disrespect to the deceased.

They received quite the onslaught of “Shame on you!” messages on their Facebook page.

Even the children received their share of hate….

But then, there were also those who saw no wrong in what both parties had done, and one of them made a pretty reasonable point about it….

But this flood of posts on their wall then prompted the newspaper to reveal this interesting piece of information!

Oooooh, the plot thickens!

The obituary was eventually pulled off. But of course, it found its way to Twitter and people’s reactions were… well, completely expected!

You know, I love Twitter for being so reliable and never disappointing me in its reactions!

Didn’t see that coming, no? Me neither!

Whoa. Agreed.

Clearly not!

Ouch! But nice one!

Biggest motivation to be nice to people!

Now, it’s easy to be judgemental here and give your opinion about whether the children should or shouldn’t have written such an obituary. But the ultimate takeaway from this story has to be this:

Amen to that!
