Let’s agree that wedding pictures are a memorable way of celebrating the love between two partners. In fact, these days couples put in a lot of effort to make their photos extra special. From including their pets to spreading messages of body positivity, pre-wedding shoots always have a personal touch to them.

Speaking of which, a couple from Kerala was recently trolled for sharing their intimate post-wedding photoshoot on social media. In a case of moral policing and cyberbullying, Rishi Karthikeyan and his wife Lakshmi were allegedly slammed by people online for uploading the supposed indecent and inappropriate pictures, reports News18.

The couple, who got married back in September, was unable to celebrate their love and commemorate their wedding due to the coronavirus pandemic. Eventually, they came up with the idea of a post-wedding photoshoot. Roping in a photographer friend, the newlyweds took off to Idukki’s tea gardens.

However, while the pictures were meant to celebrate the couple’s relationship in a fun and intimate style, a few people online reportedly trolled them for it. In the photos, the duo can be seen draped in white sheets while playfully running through tea fields.

Lakshmi mentioned how a few friends and relatives even advised the couple to take down the pictures to maintain their privacy. Many people online reportedly found the pictures to be inappropriate and bashed the bride for her “nudity”. She was quoted saying,

“On the internet, they slut-shamed me and insulted my family and posed questions such as ‚Äúare you wearing clothes underneath?.”

But the brave couple refused to take down the photos. Rishi said that both he and Lakshmi didn’t opt for usual pre-wedding shoot where “bride and the groom, wearing traditional veshti and saree, hold hands and walk around the temple”. Lakshmi mentioned how there was nothing wrong or revealing about the pictures. Since this was a “post-wedding photoshoot”, the idea reportedly was to show intimacy between a couple after the wedding.

Moral policing people for their personal choices is not acceptable. What do you think of this incident? Tell us.
