Kentucky Teacher Lets Student Sleep In Class & Skip A Test To Support Him Emotionally

During school days, the teachers who made science and history lessons fun by adding humor to it were our favorite. And most of us disliked the ones who would punish the students for not completing their homework or being very talkative in class.

Whether strict or lenient, convincing a teacher to let us skip a class test or rest our head on the bench and take a nap for a period was seemingly impossible. But Brandon Holeman, an 8th-grade science teacher from Henderson, Kentucky recently did so. He let a student sleep during his class and also let him skip a class test, reports Daily Mail.

In the beginning, when he saw the student resting his head on the bench he thought that must be because of the morning class but a friend of the student approached Holeman and told him that the boy had lost his grandfather a day before. While Holeman wondered why the boy didn’t stay back home, he decided to lend him his support as the boy had already come to class.

Apart from letting him take rest, the teacher also stuck a motivational note on the student’s test paper telling him he has already scored a 100. “I’m sorry for your loss, I’m praying for you, you already have a 100 on this test, don’t even worry about it just turn it in,” the note read.

Holeman who is otherwise popular for sharing funny videos on TikTok, shared a serious one expressing the importance of emotional support a teacher can lend to his students. “Sometimes the nicest thing a teacher can do for a student is let them come in, lay their head down, and go to sleep,” he says in the video.
