Kate Winslet Says Husband Is A Stay-At-Home Dad, Calls Him An ‘Extraordinary Life Partner’

Don’t you absolutely LOVE IT when men smash massive traditional stereotypes – like when Kamala Harris’ husband Doug Emhoff quit his job to support his wife after she became Vice President of the US or when a few men wore skirts to work because they felt clothes have no gender?

Adding to the list of amazing men who are smashing stereotypes is Kate Winslet’s husband Edward Abel who is a proud ‘stay-at-home dad’ who takes care of the family while her wife is at work.

According to People Magazine, in a recent interview, Kate Winslet opened up about her husband taking up the role of a stay-at-home dad for their 7-year-old son.

Calling him the “superhot, superhuman, stay-at-home dad”, Kate said:

“He looks after us, especially me. I said to him earlier, like, ‘Neddy, could you do something for me?’ He just went, ‘Anything’. He is an absolutely extraordinary life partner.”

She added that Abel didn’t initially plan on marrying a person who was constantly in the public eye and therefore, being judged constantly. But he “handles it well”, reports Daily Mail.

She went on to reveal that Abel is also severely dyslexic and has trouble reading.

“For a man who is severely dyslexic, as he is, he’s great at testing me on lines. It’s so hard for him to read out loud, but he still does it,” she said.

Kudos to Edward Abel for playing the part of a stay-at-home dad so well!
