Srinagar Drops To Its Lowest Temperature Of Season It’s A White Wonderful Winterland!

Winter is here! (Sorry, for that extremely generic GOT intro, but you know you’ve gotta do what you’ve gotta do.) Seriously though, it’s been one heck of a season with the white winds howling in the north (okay, I’m stopping!)

Srinagar has been facing the brunt of this winter. It saw the temperature levels drop to it’s lowest, minus 6.2 degrees.

And while I would definitely freeze to death in that weather, it does make for the most stunning photographs. The hues of the valley look like they’ve been painted by an artist and the winter wonderland is definitely a sight to behold.

1. The mist, the clouds, and the fog met at the lake like long lost friends hugging in a tight embrace.

2. Wherever you look it’s all like a bride spread her veil over the world.

3. The three musketeers adjust themselves on a tiny scooter and yell, “To newer adventures!” And just ride!

4. Downside up!

5. In a snowy winter, shivering in the cold, she saw a marvel. And with glittery eyes, she knew she’d never unsee that wonder.

6. As the snowflakes fell, one boy sought thrill and well, he found it.

7. How many stories would the bridge tell of people stomping all over it?

8. Like frosting on the cake, I took a lick of the snow. But ended up with a brain freeze instead!

9. The ripples on the waters created a mosaic of the once picture-perfect reflection.

10. The winding roads lost themselves somewhere in the beyond.

11. In nature and it’s serenity we find peace.

12. Go out and spread your wings little birdy, feel the winds on your face and let the thoughts of the dreary city life fade away.

13. Like elders, the trees grew tall and wise and their leaves fell on the little hut like happy blessings.

14. An artist sat with his paintbrush trying to replicate His creations, but alas, the magic he saw before his eyes just couldn’t be shown on the canvas.

15. And they strutted off galloping towards the snow-capped peaks!

16. A white blanket wrapped the world while we were lulled into a deep, hibernating slumber.

17. The cotton sprinkled in the sky and the milky land all looked in perfect colour-coordinated harmony.

18. While the flakes fell, the man stood still, enjoying the fairies showering praises on him.

19. The shepherd took his four-legged children out to play, humming a song as he looked in amazement the spectacle before him.

20. At the first glance, the student thought his teachers had scribbled with chalk on the trees.

I don’t know about you, but the traveler in me is itchy to pack my bags and go off to this winter wonderland (and the first thing I’d probably do is make snow fairies)! Who is up for an adventure guys?!
