Karni Sena Supporter Calls News Anchor ‘Baby’, Gets Brutally Roasted By Her On National TV

The Padmaavat vs Karni Sena battle has been a constant on our TV screens over the past few months. The fringe group has gone to many extremes to stop the movie from being released. First, they vandalised the sets of the movie, they burned effigies of the cast and crew all because they claimed that the film distorts history and shows Rani Padmini in a poor light.

And just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse, it does.

Karni Sena supporter, Surajpal Amu went on a news show for a debate after the protesters attacked a school bus in Gurugram.

The incident occurred on Wednesday when the goons vandalised and threw stones on the bus carrying children and the school’s teaching staff.

During the NewsX interview, however, the BJP leader stirred another controversy. He referred to the anchor, Sanjana Chowhan as “baby” thrice on live TV.

He addressed her as “baby” on national TV and wasn’t even sorry about it.

But the anchor wasn’t one to be baffled by the Karni Sena supporter and stood up for herself. Sanjana sternly told Surajpal that she doesn’t appreciate him calling her “baby”.

Clearly, he didn’t grasp why she was disapproving him calling her names and said that he will refer to her neither as “baby” nor as “sister”. Amu stated, “Okay, okay sister bhi nahi bolu aapko? Baby bhi nahi bolunga, sister bhi nahi bolunga.”

Sanjana went on to make a valid point. She said that while he was showing no respect for her on her own show, the Karni Sena is out protesting for the honour of women.

When she called him out for his comment and asked him to apologise he said, “Behave yourself. Main tumhare baap ka naukar hoon?” He finally cuts short the interview by telling her to “shut up.”

3. It is sickening that he can speak like this.

4. This is unacceptable.

5. There is sexism and misogyny at the very core.

Surajpal Amu is the same person who had earlier threatened to chop off Deepika Padukone’s nose during the Padmaavat controversy.

It is shameful that these people are creating a ruckus in the country over a movie. And it is even more disheartening that it is all for the honour of a queen who may or may not have existed years ago. While in real life these protesters continue to insult actual women of the country.
