Karnataka Teacher Uses Virtual Reality In Online Class To Teach Science To Village Kids

As the coronavirus pandemic has made online classes the new normal for students, some teachers are taking full advantage of technology to make classes interesting!

For example, a teacher in Karnataka, Basavaraj Sungari, has been using Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality to create 3D content in his videos for online classes. He teaches the students of a government primary school in Bhutaramanahatti village in Belagavi district, reports News18.

Sungari uses a game developing application named ‘Arloopa’ with the help of which he incorporates VR and AR elements into his videos. He teaches Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in Kannada.

A few of his videos have been shared on Facebook. In one of them, he can be seen teaching about the solar system as 3D visuals of the sun and a few planets appear in front of him.

While Sungari believes that online classes aren’t as fun as classroom learning, he is working towards making more such low-cost videos for a more affordable learning experience.

Students nowadays are extremely lucky to live in an age where Augmented and Virtual Reality is making its way into classrooms. It makes learning so much fun!
