After Scoring 624/625, Karnataka Board Student Sends Paper For Revaluation And Gets 625 Marks!

state topper revaluation

I’m pretty sure there’s something in the water these days. If you’ve been following the news or even been on the Internet lately, you must know that it’s the board exam results season. And many of us have been having literal jaw drop moments with quite a few kids missing the 100% score by just 1 mark. ONE MARK. Don’t get me wrong, I’m in absolute awe of these kids and their hard work. But, honestly, what are their parents feeding them?!

And just when I thought it couldn’t get any more unbelievable than this, enters this young man from Karnataka. And boy, does he have a story.

Mohammad Kaif Mulla was a joint topper in the Karnataka State Board Class 10 exams, having scored 624 marks out of 625, just one mark shy of 100%.

Impressive, right? Maybe for you and me. Young Kaif here wasn’t very happy about having to share the top spot with another student.

This student of St Xavier High School, Belgaum, had scored full marks in all subjects except for Science. Determined that he deserved a 100% there as well, Kaif decided to send his papers for revaluation. And guess what? He wasn’t wrong.

The revaluation results came back in his favour, granting him that elusive one mark. Which now brought his result to an even 100%, making him the sole state topper.

In an interview with Two Circles, Kaif spoke about how he was so confident about his expected score:

“After answering the papers, I confirmed all my written answers with my teachers, notebooks and model answer sheet. Fortunately, I found that all the answers were absolutely correct. Earlier, I got 624 (99.84) marks but after revaluation, my result was as per my expectation.”

Kaif is the only son of Haroon Rashid Mulla and Parveen Mulla, who according to News 18 are Urdu and Kannada teachers, respectively at government schools.

Haroon Rashid chalks up his son’s success to him being extremely studios instead of wasting time on stuff like social media:

“Kaif is a very studios child who never wastes his time on useless things like social media etc. I want him to continue studying hard in order to achieve excellence at a higher level.”

Kaif himself has very ambitious plans for his future. He strives to be an IAS officer and one of his inspirations is Ansar Shaikh, the youngest IAS of India at an age of 21. And once he passes that hurdle, he endeavours to prioritise the issue of child labour in the country, facilitating them with proper education. Because he says: “Only education only has the capacity to bring an individual out of the worst living conditions.”

Everything about this young man from his determination to score the 100% in his boards to his well thought out plans for his future, is a sign that he’s one to watch out for. Congratulations on having your hard work pay off and topping the state, Kaif!
