Actor Karanvir Bohra and wife Teejay Sidhu were recently papped as they visited the late Sidharth Shukla’s home to pay their respects to the talented actor. At the time, Bohra had reposted a video that revealed a photographer commenting that Bohra seemed ‘gareeb’ because he arrived in a Suzuki Ciaz.
Karanvir had highlighted the photographer’s disparaging comments. However, he now opened up about the issue and revealed that he was forced to share the video on his social media just to ensure ‘youngsters’ who follow him online don’t believe that they need to live up to certain societal standards.
HT reports him saying,
“A lot of youngsters follow me, and they think about what clothes they should wear, what car they should drive, what’ll people say if they don’t have work…”
Karanvir had a message for the photographer who called him ‘poor’. “Be careful, because you don’t know how you can affect other people.” Karanvir said it shouldn’t matter if he drives a Tata or an Audi. Moreover, he hopes that the youth will not care about public opinion. “Do not care how people judge you,” he insists.
On the other hand, Teejay said it also impacts aspiring actors who worry about getting negative media coverage due to instances like this. “They have so much stress already, they shouldn’t be stressed about branding,” she said.
Karanvir and Teejay sure seem to have made a valid point. Don’t you think?
