Last night, the second episode of Koffee With Karan season 7 dropped and this time on the couch was the gorgeous duo, Sara Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor. Both of them are incredibly talented, articulate and smart young ladies. But KJo has his favourites, as people have claimed earlier, and in this episode, his bias was clearly visible.
So you might know that Sara Ali Khan’s parents, Saif and Amrita Singh were divorced and Saif getting married again to Kareena Kapoor has put the entire family in a ‘Modern Family’ like situation. Sara has been vocal about her family dynamics and she seems to be pretty okay with it.

Enter Karan Johar. In the episode, he went on to claim that Janhvi has been brought up by her parents like a “princess” and her dad, Boney Kapoor, keeps on calling her all the time. He compared Janhvi’s upbringing to that of Sara and asked the latter how her parents being separated as compared to Janhvi’s parents affected her relationship with Janhvi.
“You never had a ‘protective daddy vibe’,” Karan told Sara.

Weird question right? Why would you ask something like that? But KJo did. And Sara in a very dignified way answered his question. Here’s a video of the incident:

Several people online thought it was distasteful for KJo to ask that to Sara. There were also other such moments, like him promising Janhvi more movies because she didn’t win a hamper when Sara made it clear that she wishes to work with Dharma Productions.
