Kanpur Man Helps Wife Get Married To Lover, Just 3 Months After His Wedding With Her

Marriages are made in heaven. While every union is special in its own way, some leave a lasting impression. We have a tonne of examples, in fact, we have told you about a few that made us mushy.

Yes, there is an addition to the list and honestly, it is our favourite. In what seems like a plot picked from Bollywood movie ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’,  a man, and a good one at that, recently got his wife of 3 months remarried to her boyfriend.

According to Times of India, Sujit from Sanigwan village in Kanpur married Shanti on February 19. The wedding was solemnised as per the rituals.

But it all turned awry when Shanti left for her parents’ for some reason. And it was later revealed that she was forced to marry against her will. A source close to the family said,

“It was when Shanti did not return for quite long, Sujit approached her and asked her about the cause of not returning home.

Initially, she skipped Sujit’s queries, but finally one day she broke down and confided with him that she was in love with a Lucknow guy and was married to Sujit against her will.”

Sujit alias Golu was disturbed at first when after coming to terms with the reality, he knew what he had to do.

Although it wasn’t easy, he looked to the brighter side. He even confessed to having negative thoughts initially but nothing stopped him from being the better man.

Sujit met Shanti’s lover, Ravi and decided to get them remarried. He also apprised the local police about his intentions. A policeman at Sanigwan police out-post said,

“It was a sweet and lovely gesture from Sujit’s side, one will never forget him for long.”

On Wednesday, they all assembled in front of Lord Hanuman temple for the wedding which also witnessed a huge number of guests.

Sujit and his integrity are something we rarely see these days, especially in the rural India that is crippling under the weight of atrocities in the name of honour. And it goes to prove that there is still hope for humanity after all.
