On Monday, Kangana Ranaut marked the wedding anniversary of her parents Asha Ranaut and Amardeep Ranaut by sharing a photograph on Twitter. In the caption, she shared that her grandmother revealed that they had a “raging affair” as opposed to the stance they had always maintained of it being an arranged marriage.
Sharing a throwback photo from their wedding, she captioned it, “Today is the wedding anniversary of my parents. Growing up they lied to us that it was a conventional arranged marriage. It’s only much later Nani (grandmother) told us they had a raging affair.”

She opened up on her parents’ love story further by narrating how they “fought all odds” and her mother convinced her grandfather to approve of the alliance. She wrote, “Papa saw mom at a bus stand returning from college, took that bus every day till she noticed him. When papa sent proposal, Nana ji (grandfather) brutally rejected cos papa didn’t have good reputation. Nana had selected a groom with government job for mom.
