When the trailer for ‘Panga’ hit the internet, it was inevitable that thousands of women across the country would resonate with it. Starring Kangana Ranaut, the movie revolves around the life of a 32-year-old mother who was once a renowned Kabaddi player and the captain of the Indian women’s team. Now a railway employee, Kangana’s character struggles to make a comeback.
The movie seems to touch many relevant issues – women dropping out of ‘demanding’ professions to maintain a stable family life, age restrictions for women in sports, mothers facing criticism for choosing a profession which would take away much of their ‘family-time’, etc.
If you haven’t seen the trailer yet, here’s a look:
‘Panga’ hit theatres across the country today and people are taking to twitter to review the film and share their experiences. Many claims that this is Kangana’s next big hit in terms of acting after ‘Queen’. Have a look:

#PangaReview: #KanganaRanaut's sedate turn as a wife, mother and #kabaddi champ turned Railways employee anchors a heartening but safe, sanitised view of women, ambition and middle-class India. My take on #Panga 👇🏾https://t.co/eW3V0WY4Pv

One word review for #Panga
F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C 🌟🌟🌟🌟#KanganaRanaut deserves major praise for making Jaya come alive on screen in a way that only Ranaut can. She does small-town characters better than any other actress of her generation. pic.twitter.com/8wbIUGi4h7

#PangaReview “What is Mom's Age" ?
32 – replies the father
"Can't a comeback happen at 32 ?"
Simple query of a 7 yr old about his mother sets the tone of the movie-a mother who works at railways ticket counter. But has been captain of Indian Kabbadi team https://t.co/OIfeT5rp27— vandna (@vandnadhand) January 24, 2020
