In a country like India that houses millions of God-fearing people, it is not surprising to see a new self-proclaimed Godman born out of nowhere in every nook and corner.
They say that fear makes us knock every possible door in search of help and these self-styled gurus leave no stone unturned to encash on this opportunity.
But while following their said path blindly, we often fail to realise that they are as much human as us, who often have their hidden agenda behind their alleged ‘self-less helping nature’.
Reportedly, Baba Jyotigiri Maharaj of Baheda Kala village in Haryana’s Gurugram has been accused of sexually exploiting women and raping minors. A complaint has been filed against him after his obscene MMS videos surfaced on the internet. The police filed an FIR against him after Haryana’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sudhir Yadav lodged a complaint against the self-styled godman.
A case has also been registered against those who made the videos viral on social media because the face of the victim is visible in them.
It is also alleged that Jyotigiri Maharaj had forced sexual relations with many women and girls visiting his ashram and have also sexually assaulted dozens of children.
The baba who has ashrams in several places including in Ujjain, Kashi, Gurugram and Haridwar have been on the run ever since the police got hold of his obscene videos where he was seen sexually abusing women and minors. Several political leaders from Haryana government were also spotted with Jyotigiri Maharaj in the viral videos.
Reports have it that the accused Baba was an IAS officer before becoming a self-styled godman. However, this has not been confirmed. The cyber cell of Gurugram Police is investigating the videos while the people of the village continue to protest until the ashram is shut down and the absconding Baba is arrested.
We really hope that multiple reports of such dubious Baba’s indulging into fraudulent activities become an eye-opener for people to not trust them blindly and encourage their hidden agendas.
