In recent times, we have witnessed quite a few incidents of insensitive and uncouth reporting from some prominent media houses of the nation. Earlier this month, a reputed publication posted pictures of Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter, Suhana Khan with an objectionable title and just last week, another got roasted for misleading reporting on Virat Kohli.
After these incidents, one would think that people would get a little sensitive while writing pieces, but the exact same thing happened again. Reporting the faring of Indian shuttlers at the ongoing ‘Badminton Asia Championships’, a reputed daily made an insensitive remark on doubles players.
Distraught with the insensitive and demoralising reporting of the daily, badminton star, Jwala Gutta took to Twitter to post a fuming message.
Highlighting the thoughtless sentence, Jwala posted a picture of the newspaper along with this message.
Though no one ever cared for doubles and the doubles players…these irresponsible statements is definitely what we don't need!!😡 pic.twitter.com/7jXSynqJpB

The sentence read:
“Though not much was expected from the doubles teams, Saina’s exit in the first round was stunning.”
What’s even sadder is that there were a few who started lecturing Jwala after she tweeted.
1. Thanks for poking your nose here, good sirÂ
If u want to change this then u have to show some results.. talking on twitter does not help..

2. Only if you were a badminton coach instead of a keyboard warrior
Only if you concentrated on games more than fashion and other things you wouldve done India proud and made a name 🙂

Thankfully, there were some positive comments too that overshadowed the negativity.
1. Can’t argue that
That's why it's business of sensationalism instead of journalism

2. Giving your best is the most important thing
Caring a statement in any daily is like looking at sky n spitting. Comes to your face back. Give yor best. V enjoy your game😃

3. Exactly!
This is so not right. Such poor journalism. If we won't value our players, then who will.

4. Truer words were never said
Precisely the reason we don't have a strong sports culture in our country. Lack of appreciation and recognition..

Constructive criticism is fine, necessary even, to make the players work on their weaker areas, but shaming them with such irresponsible reporting is so not done!
