Justin Trudeau’s Wife, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Teammate Test Positive For COVID-19, Both In Quarantine

From the very first COVID-19 case seen in Wuhan, China, the virus has steadily spread across the world. Now, the global pandemic has prompted governments to suspend visas and discourage international travel.

After Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson were tested positive for coronavirus, Justin Trudeau confirmed that his wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau had been infected with the disease.

CNN quoted the Canadian Prime Minister’s office saying, “The Prime Minister is in good health with no symptoms. As a precautionary measure and following the advice of doctors, he will be in isolation for a planned period of 14 days. For the same reason, doctors say there is no risk to those who have been in contact with him recently.”

NY Post reports that Juventus footballer Daniele Rugani also has COVID-19 which is why all his teammates, including Cristiano Ronaldo, have been isolated. The Hindu quoted the Club saying, “The players, members of staff and all those who came into contact (with Rugani) are in voluntary isolation. Ronaldo is in Madeira and is staying there until further notice.”

Meanwhile in India, 73 cases of the infection have been confirmed (56 Indian nationals and 17 foreign nationals). According to The Economic Times, Karnataka State Health Minister B. Sriramulu tweeted informing everyone of the first coronavirus death in the country. The patient had flown back from Saudi Arabia and died on March 10.

In Delhi, schools, colleges and cinema halls have been shut down until March 31, 2020. Kerala and Jammu & Kashmir have also issued similar orders. At such a time, it is imperative that we take precautions to protect ourselves from the virus.
