People Are Traveling To ‘The Joker Stairs’ To Pose & Dance Like Joaquin Phoenix

Travel inspiration can come from anywhere – friends, travel magazines, Instagram influencers, and even movies. And we love recreating scenes from our favourite films while visiting their actual shooting locations.

Anyone who goes to Goa with friends takes the mandatory ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ photo at Chapora Fort, ‘3 Idiots’ showed us how mesmerizing Pangong Lake in Ladakh is and no trip to a sarso ka khet is complete without posing like SRK in DDLJ.

Now, “The Joker stairs” made famous by Joaquin Phoenix are getting the same treatment from DC fans and tourists. In the movie, the actor breaks into an impromptu jig as he is climbing down them revealing that his transformation into Gotham’s clown prince is complete.

According to CNN, the stairs are located at West 167th Street in South Bronx, New York. Due to a high crime rate, the area was not frequented by tourists earlier but ‘Joker’ has changed all that. Metro UK reports that many people have been thronging to the location since the movie’s release.

Some are doing it to get more ‘likes’ on the gram while others are paying a tribute to an iconic scene in costume and full clown makeup. Check it out.
