Meet Champ & Major, Joe Biden’s Dogs Who Are Ready To Set Foot In Now Pet-Free White House

Joe Bidden & Kamala Harris’ win at the 2020 elections in the U.S. has been historic in many ways. While people are celebrating their win, there is another ‘major’ reason for celebration as well!

After being pet-free for 4 years under the Trump administration, the White House is all set to welcome Champ and Major – Joe Biden’s two adorable dogs! This welcome change in the White House environment will take place in January’21 as Joe and his wife Jill Biden will take up the residence there, reports NDTV.

While many Presidents in the past have brought along their dogs to the White House, Major’s entry is an iconic one. He is going to be the first-ever rescue dog to call White House ‘home’!

Major, a German Shepherd, was adopted by the Biden family back in 2018 after Ashley, Joe and Jill’s daughter, came across a post on social media welcoming people to adopt him, reports DNA.

On the other hand, Champ was gifted to Joe by his wife back in 2008 to celebrate him becoming the Vice-President under the Obama administration. Champ, the older of the two dogs, has previously stayed in the White House and it’s going to be Major’s 1st time, reports News18.

Even during the election campaign, Joe Biden had asked people to “put dogs back into the White House” by voting for them.

“You’re not just voting to put me in the White House. You’re also voting for Champ and Major. Let’s put dogs back in the White House,” he wrote.

Can’t wait to see Major and Champ grace the White House with their paw-some presence!
