There is probably not a single child in this world who is not fond of J.K. Rowling. And it is with great joy that we admit that the exceptional storyteller has changed the reading of an entire generation (the 90s) through her Harry Potter series.

To us fans, anything related to Rowling is precious and we can literally die for it. We bet, all of you have pounced upon those Harry Potter books, key chains, rings, t-shirts or whatever, whenever you got a chance.

Now, this brings us to today’s news which saw a few Kashmiri students get a delightful surprise. Yes, from J.K. Rowling herself. Jealous much?

It all started with 12-year-old Kulsum, a Harry Potter fan and one among her family’s first generation to learn English, writing an essay on the author in April.

In her note, she mentioned that she is a fan of Rowling not only because of her skills as a writer but the hurdles she has crossed in life. She went on to pray to Allah to give Rowling a long life so that she can meet her in future.

And guess what? The snap of the essay uploaded by the director of the Haji Public School, Sabba Haji, was read by Rowling herself as she asked for Kusum’s full name in order to send her something.

That’s not all. Come June and J.K Rowling kept her promise. She gave Kulsum and her classmates the treat of their lives by sending gift boxes including entire book series, magic wands, Hedwig figure, bookmark among others!

In a very special video, Kulsum reads out a note written by the creator of Harry Potter and it reads,

“I have sent some things. I hope you like them. I am also impressed by your English. It would be an honour to meet you one day. With Love.”

This is craaaaazy! How I wish I was Kulsum. But, congratulations girl, you just got the biggest gift of your life. 😀
