Fans know how much J.K Rowling relishes dropping random truth bombs about the wizarding world. It’s been 12 years since the last book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, was published but Rowling seems not to like putting an end to the story!
Recently, she took Potterheads by storm when she revealed a very sensitive detail about Dumbledore and Grindelwald’s relationship.
We all know Albus Dumbledore for sure, but a lot of speculations have been around the character of Grindelwald.
Gellert Grindelwald was Bathilda Bagshot’s nephew, the woman who accepted Dumbledore into her home after he became an orphan.
Long before Voldemort caused wreck havoc in the wizarding world, there was Grindelwald who wore the crown of the most dangerous dark wizard of all time.
His motive: raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all muggles and establish a global order.
He represented a dark time, just like Voldemort’s, until he was defeated by Dumbledore.
However, recently in a feature for the DVD and Blu-ray versions of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Rowling revealed that Dumbledore and Grindelwald shared an “incredibly intense” “love” relationship.
“Their relationship was incredibly intense. It was passionate, and it was a love relationship. But as happens in any relationship, gay or straight or whatever label we want to put on it, one never knows, really, what the other person is feeling. You can’t know, you can believe you know. So I’m less interested in the sexual side—though I believe there is a sexual dimension to this relationship—than I am in the sense of the emotions they felt for each other, which ultimately is the most fascinating thing about all human relationships.”
And that’s when a meme-fest sparked on the internet! Some fans have had enough, many are doing what they do best – crack jokes! Some (read: compulsive HP readers) saw this coming.

Can't even make J.K. Rowling jokes because chances are that she's already said it.

yes, thank you. I was kinda surprised to see people being so weirded out by her comments. isn‘t that what so many people have wanted all along, for her to explicitly say that dumbledore & grindelwald were lovers and not just friends/brothers/whatever?

Me: Man I'm thirsty-
JK Rowling: Not as thirsty as Dumbledore was for Grindelwald

While the hubbub is hilarious, it would be really interesting to see the queer aspect of Dumbledore. While a major hint of their relationship was given in Deathly Hallows, it would be worth the wait to see all the speculations come to life.
Definitely seeing more of this in the next Fantastic Beasts franchise!
