Sachin Tendulkar To Anushka Sharma, Celebs Laud Jhulan Goswami As She Retires From Cricket

This year comes across as the most difficult one for the sports fraternity across the globe as several ace players have been retiring from their respective sports. After Serena Williams and Roger Federer, now itโ€™s Indian former international cricketer Jhulan Goswami who has put an end to her cricketing career.

Taking to social media, the legendary pacer penned an emotional retirement post expressing her gratitude to each and everyone who was a part of her 20-year-long journey.

โ€œTo my cricket family and beyond. So, the day has finally arrived! Like every journey has an end, my cricket journey of over 20 years ends today as I announce my retirement from all forms Of cricket. As Ernest Hemingway said, `It is good to have an end to journey toward, but it is the journey that matters in the end. For me, this journey has been the most satisfying. It has been exhilarating, thrilling to say the least adventurous. I have had the honour of donning the India jersey for over two decades and serving my country to the best of my abilities. There is a sense of pride every time I hear the National Anthem before a match,โ€ Jhulan wrote.

Her retirement did come as a shocker but this was meant to happen, sooner or later. Hence, her fans and celebs alike wished her luck for the future and patted her back for being an inspiration to many and an asset to the womenโ€™s Indian cricket team.

Thanks for doing the impossible and paving the way for girls who dream to rule the sport thatโ€™s usually attributed to men. You will be missed!
