Jeweller Buries Coins, Rings Worth ₹7.5 Cr, Invites People To Find It In Treasure Quest

The global pandemic has forced many businesses to shut shop, severely affecting the economy. However, one Michigan-based jewellery store owner is turning the tragedy into an adventure for the entire US State.

According to CNN, Johnny Perri who owns J&M Jewelers, has buried his stock worth $1 million (Rs.7.5 crore) and is organizing multiple treasure hunts for residents in the area instead of simply selling it off.

Forbes quoted him saying,

“Giving people adventure is giving them something to believe in again, besides this Covid. I could have sold everything I owned and retired but what fun would that be? There would be no adventure quest for anyone. I had the time of my life hiding the treasure but [am] even more excited about hearing the stories of those who are about to venture out to seek it.”

What’s the catch?

No catch really. There is however a $50 fee (around Rs.3800) to join the quest which gives participants access to maps and clues. He says that he has installed GPS trackers to the pieces and painted an ‘X’ on the right spot and requests people not to damage property while looking for the treasure.

What a brilliant way to go out with a bang!
