With Amazon sitting as the undisputed king of the e-commerce industry, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos’ professional life seems to be a flourishing state of affairs. However, as far as his personal life is concerned, the world’s wealthiest man finds himself in an emotional and significant stop.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter on the 9th of January, the 54-year-old American made a major announcement. Sharing a sentimental note, Bezos revealed that he and his wife MacKenzie Bezos, have decided to divorce mutually.
“After a long period of loving exploration and trial separation, we have decided to divorce and continue our shared lives as friends.”
Jeff and MacKenzie’s love story roots back to 1993 when Jeff had interviewed her for a job at the Hedge Fund in New York. They dated each other for three months since then and got married shortly after.
However, the skilled entrepreneur considers himself extremely lucky to have spent 25 years with his wife. Putting forward their ambitious careers ahead, Bezos added that the two will continue to act as a family and there is no love lost between the two.
“We feel incredibly lucky to have found each other and deeply grateful for every one of the years we have been married to each other.”
MacKenzie who is also a novelist, was one of Jeff’s first employee when he went onto form Amazon. The couple has been blessed with three sons and an adopted daughter.

I just don’t understand why people give up on a marriage after working on it for 25 years! That seems like such a long time.

That must be the most congenial, heartwarming divorce statement I’ve ever seen.

It is a sad news. I hope both of you have thought through that what worked for last 25 years which is not working right now.

Your divorce sounds better than most people's marriages

If you'd do it all again, that shows some deep love. Then why not work it out and keep your commitment to each other?

Without a shade of doubt, we believe that Jeff and MacKenzie will see the tough phase through like matured adults. Here is wishing them all the luck for their respective futures.
