Meet Jayanti Chauhan, Who Is ‘Not Interested’ To Take Over Bisleri’s ₹7000 Crore Business

You may know Bisleri, the popular brand of packaged drinking water available in every nook and corner of the country. What you may not know is that the brand was founded by a man named Ramesh Chauhan, who had also made Thums Up, Gold Spot, Citra, Maaza and Limca and later sold them to Coca-Cola.

Ramesh Chauhan, the business mogul, is now 82 years of age and has no one to look after the company after he steps down in 2 years. He has a daughter, Jayanti Chauhan, and she has “no interest” in taking over Bisleri’s business, reported Business Today.

Hence, Ramesh Chauhan is now looking for a buyer for the brand and Tata Consumer Products Ltd. is one of the contestants. However, the Rs 6000-7000 crore deal has not yet been finalised.

Here’s a look into Jayanti Chauhan, Ramesh Chauhan’s only child and the current Vice-Chairperson of Bisleri.

After graduating from high school, Jayanti joined the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising to study Product Development in Los Angeles. Following this, she pursued degrees in Fashion Styling at the Istituto Marangoni Milano, Fashion Styling & Photography from the London College of Fashion, and in Arabic from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, reported Economic Times.

At the age of 24, Jayanti joined the company and played an important role in running the company’s affairs. She made significant contributions to the company’s automation at the Delhi plant and restructured the HR, Sales and Marketing teams to make them stronger.
