Jawaharlal Nehru (14 November 1889 – 27 May 1964) was the first Prime Minister of India and played a central figure in the Indian politics. He ruled India when it was an independent nation under the guidance of Mahatma Gandhi. Now, he is in the news because of his shady beginnings. Or not.
A Twitter account named Anon Gol WP Edits has announced over Twitter that Jawaharlal Nehru’s Wikipedia page has been tampered by some anonymous Govt. IP address.
The revisions were made on his Wikipedia page which were malicious in nature since it targeted his background. It said that Nehru was born in a red light area. The edits were made and then changed back to original content withing minutes. But we can see those changes under Wikipedia’s revision history page. Apparently, the changes were made on whois.domaintools.com, which belongs to National Informatics Centre (government owned).
Congress has been showing support on this issue and is insisting a probe over this matter.

Some alterations were also made on Motilal Nehru’s (Jawaharlal Nehru’s father ) page. This issue has sparked off a debate between political parties regarding the person behind it.
Why would someone do that? What good can come out of all these image tarnishing techniques employed by some political parties? Nevertheless, this is really strange.
