Janhvi Kapoor the elder daughter of Sridevi and Boney Kapoor shared a very close bond with her late mother. Her mom and legendary Bollywood actress, however, left for her heavenly abode even before her daughter’s debut film was released. Janhvi has time and again opened up about her loss and shared how she misses her mother all the time.
On her 23rd birthday, Janhvi remembered her mom and spilled the beans on she used to make her b’day special every time. “They would decorate my room with balloons and make everything feel special, be it the conversations on the couch or the cake-cutting. Mom would make me feel pampered. Dad does it every day even now,” she told Mumbai Mirror.
Janhvi also shared that more than grand birthday celebrations, little things and spending time with family and friends is what she loves. “A few years ago, some friends took me to Alibaug. There was lots of cake, while one friend recited a poem for me. It was the first time I was out of town for an entire day,” she said.
Fans often compare Janhvi with her late mom, apparently because of their unavoidable resemblance to each other. Talking about the same, Janhvi said, “I think people need to accept that I’m a different person from my mother. There’s a section of society that has been able to do that with Dhadak, but there are people who couldn’t make that differentiation and they still look for Sridevi in me. Maybe after more of my work comes out, they’ll understand I’m a different type of actor and I’ll make different choices.”
She also told HT that if ever made, she would not feature in any of the remakes of her mother’s films. “I don’t think that anyone can recreate that magic. No one can. Also, when something has been done so well, I don’t know if it’s right to try to attempt to do it again,” she said.
