The students of Rajkumari Ratnavati Girls’ School are very lucky. Not only are their uniforms specially designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee, but their school premises seems like a place out of our wildest dreams!
According to News18, Rajkumari Ratnavati Girls’ School, which is located in Jaisalmer’s Kanoi Village, is located in the middle of the Thar desert. It is built by a US-based non-profit organisation and its design is a treat for the eyes!
The structure is made of yellow sandstone, has no air-conditioners but is designed in a way as to keep the sun’s harsh rays at bay.
The oval-shaped building consists of not just a school, accommodating 400 girls, but also a textile museum and performance hall and also an exhibition space for local artisans to sell their crafts, reports The Tribune. The entire structure has been designed by architect Diana Kellogg and serves to educate and empower the girls from nearby villages.
After IRS officer Gautam Singh took to Twitter to share pictures of the school, people online have been complimenting its marvellous architecture!
