Yesterday’s match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore was a nail biter. MI was struggling to chase the total of 201 and then the 119-run partnership between Kieron Pollard and Ishan Kishan turned the game around. The wicketkeeper-batsman did a Tewatia and scored 99 off 58 balls before the match went into a super over.

Hardik Pandya was sent in to bat in the super over and photos of a disappointed Ishan Kishan sitting in the dugout went viral online as the team lost to RCB.
When Chester said, “I tried so hard and got so far, in the end, it doesn’t even matter” Ishan Kishan felt that pic.twitter.com/p7Tbg2eQ9E

Take a bow Ishan Kishan. You were extraordinary today, kept the game alive, kept the hope alive for Mumbai Indians, and almost took the team to the victory even in those odds.
You deserved the century !!#RCBvMI pic.twitter.com/ouwaqJa42r

80 runs were required in the last 4 overs. This guy turned the match around and got out on 99. Match tied, super over happened and he wasn't sent to bat. Team lost, his efforts went to waste and wasnt even the man of the match either.
You gotta feel sad for Ishan Kishan.#RCBvMI pic.twitter.com/sKGcC1kdUr— Kaushik (@Kushh_007) September 28, 2020
Look at Ishan Kishan’s face. He should be sent with Polly. But captain is high and now, Mumbai Indians put on 7-1 in the Super Over.
Ishan Kishan has won my heart today. pic.twitter.com/PHszB97n25

Look at Ishan Kishan’s face. The guy got dismissed at 99, played a brilliant innings, but is inconsolable at the moment as Mumbai Indians put on 7-1 in the Super Over. #RCBvsMI #IPL2020 pic.twitter.com/BGI8hqNh8x

My heart goes out to this one today! Got his team a fighting chance. Got his team a run away from victory & his century. Team loses in the Super-Over! Ishan Kishan, you may not have won the game today but you've won many hearts 💙💙 pic.twitter.com/Vtof9DSXEp

Former cricketer Yuvraj Singh and many others questioned the captain’s decision to bench Ishan Kishan during the super over.
Why did Rohit sent Pandya in Super Over?
Ishan Kishan’s reaction after Super Over sums everything!
Sad for him. Hope Bumrah does well! 🤞🏼

I think @KieronPollard55 and @ishankishan51 should have come to bat in the super over ! They were set bodies were warm ! I think @rcb will just get out of jail here ? What say #IPL2020 cause @rcb has mr 360 @ABdeVilliers17

Totally agree I don’t know why the 2batsmen in form were not the once sent out to bat 🤦🏽♀️ #MumbaiIndians you should have send #kieronpollard and #IshanKishan in the super over #IPL2020

I was also hoping to see Ishan Kishan! He was in such good flow! The momentum would have helped!

It should have been a no-brainer decision for Rohit Sharma. I do not fully understand the need to send Hardik Pandya when you had warm blooded @ishankishan51 striking like a god.

Not a good captaincy by @ImRo45 . Ishan deserved to bat and was not given due credit.

Hindustan Times quoted skipper Rohit Sharma saying in the post-match presentation,
“He (Kishan) was drained out and was not comfortable. We thought we could send him but he was not feeling fresh. I mean 7 runs you need to have luck on your side, we had to get wickets but there was also an unfortunate boundary. There are a lot of positives to take away from this game.”
We’ll be on the lookout for this star’s future performances. All the best, Ishan Kishan!
