Spanish Footballer Isco Rescues Injured Bird During World Cup Match, Wins Hearts

The Spanish national team drew level with Portugal on points after a hard fought win over Iran in the ongoing FIFA World Cup on Wednesday. Diego Costa’s lucky goal turned out to be the difference between the two teams as the 2010 World Cup Champions successfully saw off a gutsy Iranian side.

However, a small but heartwarming incident involving Spanish talisman and Real Madrid footballer Isco has managed to grab a lot of attention.

In a video that has been posted on Twitter by journalist Rosario Pompizzi, Isco can be seen rescuing a tiny bird from the middle of the pitch.

The bird which was in danger after landing on the ground was picked by the 26-year-old midfielder and taken to the side of the field outside the touchline.

Here is the video:

Twitter took no time in noticing the kind act and showered praise on the Spanish number 22.

It is always refreshing to see the humanitarian side of these footballers amidst the towering intensity of the matches. And Isco, you already have my heart.
