Sahabzaade Irrfan Ali Khan aka Irrfan.
The actor who was a global star, dropped the Khan off his name when he entered the film industry. As he wanted people to know him by his name and not by his surname. And, ever since then he delivered exceptional performances one after the other and it is next to impossible to choose which one has been his best role, so far.
Here are 20 of his best roles.
1. Not only did he ace the negative role and bag a Filmfare award for it, but Irrfan acted so convincingly that he made people hate him.
2. One of my personal favourite roles of Irrfan. Ah! That romance between Maqbool and Nimmi.
3. His role of Pakistani Police Chief got him great reviews.
4. Wasn’t the screaming-the-hearts-out strategy a total hit?
5. He left an indelible mark with this film.
6. Small but a pivotal role, Irrfan showed everyone how impactful can his short cameo be.
7. By this film, we were so used to seeing Irrfan as an inspector.
8. He must’ve died in the end, but at least he got the girl’s heart.

10. It is touted to be one of his best roles and we can’t debate that fact.

14. The sweetest love story ever. And, you have to agree that you, too, fell for Saajan.
15. He came, he delivered and he conquered. His screen-time was limited but it touched everyone’s rooh.
16. The cute Bengali he spoke and the amazing acting skills he put up, made ‘Piku’ what it is. Without Irrfan, it just wouldn’t have been the same.
17. Not only was he looking suave, but also looking extremely convincing in his portrayal of Mr Masrani in the ‘JW’. Amirite?
18. The thriller got more thrilling because Irrfan made it so with his fine acting.

Just when you think you’ve seen the best from Irrfan, he delivered yet another scintillating performance. Cinema and his global fanbase shall miss him dearly.
