Irrfan Khan Donated For COVID-19 Relief But Didn’t Want People To Know, Says Friend

Its been a month since actor Irrfan Khan passed away. The void feels very much real to his fans who have found it difficult to process that the maestro is indeed gone and they wouldn’t be watching more of his works anymore.

Irrfan Khan was an exceptional actor, yes. But there was something more exceptional in the man – his kind heart. Even in his final days, Irrfan was working towards raising money for coronavirus relief, revealed his friend and neighbour from Jaipur, Ziaullah.

According to Hindustan Times, Irrfan Khan didn’t want anyone to know about his COVID-19 relief work. In an interview, Ziaullah said:

“With the coronavirus situation, we were creating funds to help people. Irrfan helped us with funds for poor people. His only clause was nobody should know that he has helped. As a family, they believe that the right hand shouldn’t know what the left hand has given. For them, it was more important for people to get relief. Now, I am sharing this with the world as he is no more between us. It’s our responsibility to tell everyone that there are souls like this too.”

Irrfan took his last breath a day after his mother passed away. Many believed it to be a spiritual outcome of the special bond they shared. However, Ziaullah shared a few words about their relationship.

“He (Irrfan) would rush home whenever he was informed of his Ammi (mother’s) health. He would visit if it is for a short period, but his arrival to meet his mother was indubitable.”

We all feel his absence. But more so his family. Sutapa Sikdar, Irrfan Khan’s wife, shared a heartfelt message for him on his one-month death anniversary, reports NDTV.

Quoting the 13th-century Persian poet Rumi, Sutapa writes:

“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and right-doing there is a field. I’ll meet you there. When the soul lies down in that grass the world is too full to talk about. It’s just a matter of time…milenge baaten karenge…Till we meet again.”

She also shared pictures of Irrfan and herself basking under the sun in a field. Have a look at the post here:
