IRCTC’s Sassy Reply To User Complaining About ‘Vulgar’ Ads On Website Is Going Viral

If you know a thing or two about digital advertising, you would probably be aware of the concept of Google Ads. However, IRCTC website user, Anand Kumar, definitely wasn’t familiar with the same. He messed with the IRCTC and it came at a cost, as he became the subject of massive online trolling!

Anand Kumar, who was apparently trying to book a ticket via the IRCTC booking app, found “obscene and vulgar” advertisements appearing on the Indian Railways website. Hence, he decided to notify the authorities about the same and took to Twitter to post screenshots of the inappropriate advertisements.

Apart from tagging IRCTC in the post, he also tagged Railway minister Piyush Goyal and asked him to take a look at the issue.

However, IRCTC was quick to pitch in with a reply and it was not something Anand Kumar had expected. In their sassy reply, the subsidiary of the Indian Railways mentioned that the Google ads popping up on the website are actually the result of Kumar’s own browsing history and therefore, he needs to clear all his browsing data in order to avoid them.

“Irctc uses Googles ad serving tool ADX for serving ads. These ads uses cookies to target the user. Based on user history and browsing behaviour ads are shown. Pl clean and delete all browser cookies and history to avoid such ads.”

Just in case you’re unaware, let us explicate why IRCTC was absolutely on point with their reply. Google analyzes a user’s browsing behavior to show targeted ads which will be of interest to them.

The entire episode went viral in no time as people turned Anand Kumar’s ‘complaint’ into hilarious jokes and memes!

Anand Kumar, might we suggest you limit your ‘kinky browsing’ to Incognito mode the next time?
