Iranian Medical Workers Dance To Keep Their Spirits Up Amid Coronavirus Outbreak

Coronavirus or COVID-19 that was first reported from Wuhan, China, on 31 December 2019, has today, taken over the world. A World Health Organisation report suggests that as of 4th March 2020, 80,422 confirmed cases have been reported in China with 2,984 deaths. Outside of mainland China, total confirmed cases were around 13,000 with the death toll reaching to around 250. However, a total of 28 COVID-19 cases have been detected in India so far, reported The Indian Express.

But, apart from China and many other countries, Iran has also been badly affected by the infection with 92 deaths being reported so far, according to BBC. A report by The Guardian suggested that about 8% (23) of the Iranian parliament’s MPs have tested positive for the virus.

Although several patients  have recovered, the shortage of personal protective equipment like gloves, medical masks, respirators, goggles, face shields, gowns, and aprons is endangering the life of the medical practitioners worldwide. Health workers are tirelessly working day and night to save as many patients as possible.

And amid the time of crisis, a refreshing video of healthcare practitioners from Iran has surfaced on the internet. Several videos show how Iranian health workers dance, wearing protective equipment, dance in a hospital-like setting to ease-off their workload. Previously, nurse and cop were seen dancing together outside coronavirus-hit Wuhan hospital to relax for a moment.

Their unique stress management idea to deal with the global pandemic has gone viral on social media.
