What did you do this Valentine’s Day? If you were in a relationship, your plans must have been pretty straightforward. Fun day out, maybe a walk on the beach, casual dinner, drinks, movie or any other generic couple activity. However, if you’re single, that’s usually when things tend to get more interesting.
When single, we’re on a relentless quest to secure someone’s fancy on Valentines Day. Some of us send out broadcast messages, some get in touch with our exes while some tirelessly right swipe on ‘Tinder’. But this guy did something which cannot be described as anything other than ridiculous.
Shakul Gupta, an “entrepreneur with an Audi A4” according to his Facebook bio, posted on the social network that he would gift an iPhone 7 to the woman who agrees to go out with him on Valentines Day.Â
Dinner at Oberoi, Gurgaon.
iPhone 7 (Brand new of your choice)
Memorable moments.

Not just that, he even promised some “memorable moments” (wonder what that meant?).
Shakul received an overwhelming response to his post with over 2000 applicants!
Seriously? 2000?!
He even had a dedicated team sift through these applications to narrow down to the best five.
Yeah, not just one, the guy had 5 dates! Also, notice the stack of iPhones on the table. He was 100% serious about that.
For those who may have been sceptical of the authenticity of his story, Shakul even posted a picture of the dinner bill!
Although I would never actually condone such behaviour, I can’t help but see some humour in all of this. Who said money can’t buy happiness, eh?
